OUR UNIVERSITY OF CADIZ

I will speak about Cadiz and the environment where our university is located. Its cultural and natural attractions could be a reason for studying in the UCA. I´m going to tell you where the city of Cádiz is. Cádiz is in the south of Spain near Seville, Malaga and Gibraltar. Both Jerez and Gibraltar offer low cost flights and are close to Cadiz Cadiz is a small city with one hundred and thirty thousand inhabitants. Cádiz is not a typical Spanish tourist city, because it is located on a small island. But within a few kilometres there are different towns and cities near the beach which offer many interesting sports and leisure activities such as windsurfing in Tarifa, horses, wine, sherry and traditional flamenco dancing in Jerez and Seville. Due to its geographic situation, it has a climate between the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic ocean, with an annual temperature of 18 ºC., with an average of 74 days of rain annually, Should you miss the snow and ski-ing in winter, Granada is only a few hours away. Cádiz was founded by the Phoenicians from the city of the Tiro around one thousand one hundred before Christ. According to mythology, it was Hercules who founded Gadir, which means "closed site".

EMCI Erasmus IP Summer School 2013

I would like to say something about my experience: it has been rich, intense and full of life and emotion. Also for me it was my first IP. This project started many years ago with proposals to different universities in different countries. We had a dream, we followed our dream with enthusiasm and persistence... That IP was an example of how today's youth can break down barriers and work together to build a better world.
